So my name is Ryan Gilbert born and raised in Huntington Beach. Been gone a long time. Did a lot of time, been in and out of detox. I’m 49 years old, been in and out of detox and juvenile halls, programs etc.. i’ve struggled with everything and had to kick everything out at some point in my life, starting at age 14. Alcohol is a major issue like major major, which led to everything else. I pretty much had to kick everything at one point of my life, heroin, oxy, Xanax, alcohol and meth, but this last last one I I just got out of prison and I parole to 808 California Next Step recovery housewent which was a great clean and sober house.I really built my life back up. They helped me to get back on Track and I built a wonderful life for myself and was headed in a great direction until the day I got off parole andI decided to celebrate with a couple drinks and Inever stopped. That was August 24 of 2024. Since then,!Dave Jones, one of the directors has been calling me and reaching out to me the whole way through. I’ve been out there for almost a year and a half in active addiction. I maintained well for a while and then slowly lost everything and ended up on the streets of Santa Ana.! Dave Jones, he kept reaching out, working with my mom, and my girlfriend to get me back in here and ironically they turned 808 California St. into a detox center /detox house and I ended up hittingr ock bottom and just surrendered and made that call and they picked me up Immediately and brought me there. At that pointI was drinking A fifth, to sometimes 2 Fifths A day, a couple grams to an eight ball of meth every day along with Xanax and everything else that comes along with that so I was in really bad shape when I called, but they took me in, gave me the right medication‘s, fed me Extremely well, they got a chef that comes in twice a day. Thebest meals I’ve had, aside from my girlfriend,of course. They nursed me back to health. Give me the right medication to get through the gnarly detox. You know I had a gnarly detox. This is worst the I’ve ever Had. I’ve been to all the detoxes in Orange County and This is by far the best! Theymade it the most comfortable that it could possibly be in that situation, guaranteed. So I just I just give big props to Dave Jones just for being a good human and sticking in there and getting me back in there and you know Next Step for just having an awesome detox and like and awesome recovery houses. I’m now at 19th St. House, the independent living sober house for men and you know it’s great and I’m repairing all the damage that I did and they’re helping me along the way, you know, just just kind of trying to pick up the pieces and rebuild and I just wanna givebig props to Dave Jones for, just like I said, being a good human and hanging in there and getting me back in here. Big props to Next Step just for being a wonderful place and also for having a great detox in Huntington Beach because you know Huntington Beach needs a good detox center. It really needs it and we don’t really have one to speak of and I really like that so you know if you’re out there you wanna quit you’re tired of it or maybe your a family member of somebody struggling out there in an Active addiction definitely look into Next Step. No matter where you’re from, especially if you’re from Huntington, but no matter where you’re from ,you know, I’ve been through it all and this is by far the best so thank you Next Step and I wish all of you well out there struggling in addiction make that call it’ll be worth it. Good luck on your journey.Posted on Joey BlackburnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Facility Was All Around Helpful And Beneficial To My Recovery. Such a great program! The houses are beautiful! I lived at one of the houses, and it is very thorough. The double scrubs, chores, and medication and UA times. To add on to all of this, the staff make sure to be there for their clients and communicate as well. The staff work very hard to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe, and they fight for their clients! which is the most important part. I would recommend this program and sober living to anyone who needs support and a stepping stone to become independent. all love!🙏Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
